|Title:||Aviation at Mawson Station|
Planes were an important aid to exploration and science. In 1960 the RAAF shipped a twin-engine DC3 Dakota and single-engine Beaver aircraft to Mawson Station to replace the two Beavers destroyed by blizzard in 1959. These two planes suffered the same fate later that year.
